I am thinking of connecting NEQTO to a public WLAN hotspot, are there any security concerns I should be aware of?

General Security Precautions

  • When accessing an external server outside of NEQTO, use HTTPS and MQTTS.

 

Public WLAN Hotspot Precautions

  • API's that require login cannot be used.
  • When using a public hotspot, be aware that there is always the possibility of disconnection (due to too many user connections, connection time limits, etc.).

 

NEQTO-Specific Precautions

  • NEQTO Bridge Wi-Fi Module only supports the WPA/WPA2 authentication methods.
  • When there is a security firmware update available for the NEQTO Bridge, update your devices as soon as possible.
